Agri-ProFocus member organisation Hivos takes a stand in its latest position paper on food security. Hivos advocates a renewed focus on small-scale agricultural producers, which they see as “critical to solving the global problem of food insecurity and poverty”.

Now, according to the the UN Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO), the International Fund for Agricultural Development (IFAD) and the World Food Programme (WFP), smallholder farmers’ unions are a key component to improving the lives of millions of rural farmers across the world.
