1. How does the network benefit your organisation?
For Both ENDS the Agri-ProFocus partnership is about combining strengths of organisations towards sustainable agriculture.

2. Please give an example of a joint action, in which the APF network played a visible role.
In November 2010 Both ENDS and Agri-ProFocus have been preparing for and working together during the Down2Earth Conference that was held in The Hague. Together with Agri-ProFocus members we have drafted, negotiated and finalised a set of stepping stones to be included in the Conference’s document called ‘Roadmap for Action’. These stepping stones are based among others on the options for action from the IAASTD report ‘Agriculture at a Crossroads’ and the work of our partners in developing countries.

3. If you were in charge, what should the APF network look like in 5 years’ time?
Both ENDS would like to see a vivid North-South, South-South and North-North exchange on agriculture that puts small-scale producers in the centre, addresses the needs of the earth, connects producers with consumers and is directed towards the future. As the IAASTD report concludes that business as usual is no longer an option, the Agri-ProFocus network should discuss and strategise how to come to future- smart agriculture in which small-scale producers feed people, restore nature and provide sustainable livelihoods. Agri-ProFocus should therefore also engage in relevant policy debates at EU and international levels.

4. How will your organisation contribute to the APF network in the next 2 years?
We provide insights from the ground on the impact of unsustainable practices and at the same time on sustainable management of natural resources. We know there are examples of future-smart agriculture that can inspire people to develop better policies and better practices. We propose innovations put forward by socially and environmentally minded civil society organisations from the South for sustainable management of natural resources and livelihood development. We link these local realities and innovations to national and international policy agendas.
