Concept

Requests for support related to product and service chains, organisational strengthening or support processes are eligible for the Agri-ProFocus approach. These could involve projects that are already in progress and that involve multiple organisations, or they could be new ideas for future projects.
The producer organisations submits its request not directly to Agri-ProFocus, but to one of the participating organisations. This receiving organisation forwards the request to Agri-ProFocus when a multi-actor approach is needed or desired. The secretariat of Agri-ProFocus is responsible for the formation of the temporary coalition of organisations for the project that can offer the requested services. As soon as the project is ready to be carried out the Agri-ProFocus secretariat one of the participating organisations takes up the role of leading agency. However, the producer organisation are chiefly responsible for the project during all stages: the producer organisation is 'in the driver seat'.

The course of action for support will be as follows:

  1. A producer organisation submits a request to one of the participating organisations, in accordance with that partner's standard procedures.
  2. If a multi-actor approach is needed or desired the request is forwarded to the Agri-ProFocus secretariat. The secretariat contacts other participating organisations to assess the feasibility of the request.
  3. The request is developed into a concrete project proposal either with the aid of the receiving partner of the aid of a specialised organisation.
  4. The coalition for the project is formed. The Agri-ProFocus secretariat performs the role of services broker and coordinates the setting up of the project.
  5. When the project is carried out, one of the partners in the coalition takes the role of 'leading agency'. This organisation is responsible for the support and monitoring of the project.
