Welcome to Agri-ProFocus

Agri-ProFocus is a cooperative network established to sustainably strengthen producer organisations in developing countries. The Dutch government, representatives of the financial and business sectors, research institutions, development organisations and agricultural organisations all work together in pursuit of this one goal.

The participants within Agri-ProFocus complement each other with respect to the expertise and services they can provide to producer organisations. Combing their knowledge and means increases the possibilities to support producer organisations in developing countries and improves the quality of the services provided.

Agri-ProFocus matches the needs of producer organisations with the expertise and services of the participants. Requests submitted by producer organisations that cannot be fulfilled by the receiving Agri-ProFocus participant are forwarded to the Agri-ProFocus secretariat. It is thus no longer necessary for a participant to reject a request from a partner organisation if all or part of the required competencies do not fall within the participant's own area of expertise.

In addition to performing this role of 'services broker', Agri-ProFocus also serves as a knowledge platform through which experiences and knowledge about producer organisations and how to support them can be shared and exchanged.
