Agri-ProFocus supports research, documenting practice and development of tools and methods to promote exchange and learning within the Agri-ProFocus network. The focus is on four themes: value chain development, access to financial services, sustainable food production, and gender as cross-cutting theme.
Research activities include both desk research by practitioners and action oriented comparative research by knowledge institutes.
Various ways of documenting practices are possible, including write shops within cooperation with producer organisations, systemizing success and failures or more formal publications.
Another activity to enhance learning and innovation concerns developing and sharing methods and tools. For example, within the Gender in value chains learning group a 'Tools wiki' is being developed to support professionals in gender sensitive development of agro-value chains in developing countries.
